(Owner/Operations/Rentals Manager): After completing Seneca College Underwater Skills Diploma Program in 1978, specializing in Electronics, Non-Destructive Testing, and Photography, Steven went on to work in the underwater industry for 24 years. Starting with Can-Dive Services, Toronto in 1979, he specialized in underwater television inspections and photography. In 1981 an internal promotion with the company, which changed its name to OceanWorks Int’l, moved him westward to Vancouver to work with the Oceanographic Survey Division. His portfolio expanded to include work as the company's Submersible Pilot, Remote Operated Vehicle operator, Training Instructor, Small and Large Project Quotations and Technical Services Manager, and led to assignments all over the world including highly specialized product training and customer service with and for the US Navy, Italian Navy, UK Ministry of Defence, Japanese MOD, and Russian Navy.
Steven has an extensive background working in the North Sea and High Arctic. His work has encompassed designing and implementing life-support systems, video overlay systems, and specialized mechanical and computer controls. He was responsible for writing technical manuals for a variety of underwater systems and IT support for the company. His graphics skills include logo design, marketing materials, and training illustrations. He gained unique specialized equipment knowledge for new and unproven scenarios utilizing underwater cameras and lighting for inspections. Steven has trained a broad range of professionals including Canadian astronauts Dave Williams and Julie Payette. Projects include working on and consulting for underwater films, such as Danger Bay, The Abyss, Dark Angel, Stargate, and various underwater Imax and HDTV Projects. Offshore projects involved working with NOAA scientists and National Geographic utilizing submarine mounted SIT and HDTV cameras as well as some of the first broadcast video cameras packaged for harsh environments. Chris Hopkins. (Sales): Chris has been involved in broadcast television for 20 years. He has worked for independent production companies including CBC and Fox Sports Net in Seattle. His broad experience covers areas from master control to broadcast engineering with studio and field production from live news, interviews, sporting events, live theatrical productions to music and corporate videos, from editing to graphics. His involvement in production began in high school when a friend asked for help on their production, and has have been involved in production in some form ever since. Chris brings a level of customer service, professionalism, dedication, and training forged in the video production industry. It is with this professional attitude that he carries over into the Sales position with ProVision; find your passion and do it with all your heart. Michael Krizaj. (Rentals): ""Mick"" was born in Sydney Australia. He enjoyed sports and recreation growing up, which influenced him later in life to get into filmmaking. During high school Michael studied visual arts and photography, with his artworks selected for display at art galleries throughout the Sydney district. He went to a new Sydney film school called Partycp8 Film Academy. There he worked on a student Feature film Called “Green Fire Envy” as a Production Assistant, Camera Operator, Clapper, and Storyboard Artist. The film was premiered at the Fox Studio’s Sydney. Later Michael started his own business “Reign Films” became Freelance Cameraman and travelled around Australia filming. Later he moved to Montreal Canada and work as a DOP and a camera assistant for “MatchProd” making commercials. Ryan C. (Rentals) A Graduate of the Capilano University Film Program, Ryan has 10 years of experience in the film and television industry in Vancouver working as Camera Assistant, Grip and Photographer. For the past 3 years Ryan has also been operating two media companies, Ride With The Tide Productions and Films Talk Entertainment, working as a live event videographer and editor, documentary filmmaker and Producer of the Raincity 72 Hour Noir Film Competition. Ryan brings his expertise and knowledge of film production and professional videography to the Rentals department at ProVision. Working in the field with most of the equipment available at ProVision allows Ryan to give first hand information to customers about rental packages that will work the best with their project.
